HireVue launches AI Explainability Statement for HR assessments
In a first for the HR sector, the statement looks to inform customers about the logic involved in HireVue's technology, following commissioned independent audits. This takes into account interview-based assessments, as well as game-based assessments -- the latter entailing online games that test candidates on a range of cognitive skills, including numeracy, problem-solving and attention. The document has been reviewed by the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), and supported by Best Practice AI, together with Simmons & Simmons and Jacob Turner of Fountain Court Chambers. With AI being leveraged in order to aid hiring processes, HireVue is aiming to place data privacy and security, along with ethical development of the technology, at the forefront of its work. "Being at the forefront of defining the transparent and ethical use of AI and software is at the heart of what we do," said Lindsey Zuloaga, chief data scientist at HireVue.
New school board to bank on AI for tests
The Delhi government plans to introduce the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and game-based techniques for continuous assessment of students under its new state school education board, officials said after the board's first general body meeting on Tuesday. The Delhi cabinet approved the Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE) on March 6. The society for the board was registered on March 19. The board is likely to be operational for up to at least the middle-school level (up to Class 8) from the upcoming academic session. Delhi education minister Manish Sisodia, who is the head of the board, said students will be assessed holistically on the basis of their knowledge, attitude, and skills.
It's a game changer: recruiters make a play for ideal jobseeker
Welcome aboard the Starship Comet – a virtual spaceship in the smartphone game Cosmic Cadet, which asks players to complete six levels of interstellar challenges in 30 minutes. The game may look and feel like Angry Birds, but it is testing more than your ability to swipe and aim. It is a psychometric assessment, which its creators believe will revolutionise the recruitment industry. Measuring cognitive processes such as resilience and problem-solving, the game collects data on how job candidates instinctively respond to given situations, thereby helping employers gain a better understanding of how they would perform in the role and whether they are a good fit for the company. Cosmic Cadet is one of three games available for iPhone and Android users.
